A few months ago I was doing research for a client building a course.
The topic: how to go from a solo makeup artist to running your own studio, managing a team of makeup artists.
And during that research, I discovered a bunch of exercises that could be used for the course. For example, one of the things covered is how to assess your current business operations to identify what's blocking your growth.
The exercises I found were sooo good that I asked Claude to rework it for solo experts and operators, changed a few things, and turned it into something I can run in my AI workspace every 90 days.
I call it the Bottleneck Audit.
And it's something I wish I knew before so I could've done it sooner.
The audit starts by finding the real constraint before you build anything. To make sure that you're actually solving something that can help unlock the next level of your growth.
My plan is to run this Bottleneck Audit every 90 days because bottleneck changes. What's capping you this quarter probably isn't what capped you last quarter.
And to make the whole thing easier, I turned that audit into a Claude Skill that I can run in my AI workspace. That way, I can save the audit findings in my AI second brain, which is helpful context for my AI.
Because when it knows what my bottleneck and priorities are, it can help me stay on track. At least, that's how I trained my AI.
Btw, if you haven’t heard of ‘Skills’, it’s a saved way of doing something that Claude runs on command. That way, you don't have to provide context every time you need AI to do something for you. This is extremely helpful for repetitive tasks like, drafting proposals or preparing for a client call.

Step 1 - Build your current weekly capacity map.
Step 2 - Mark the overload zones.
Step 3 - Write your starting point.
Step 4 - Circle the pressure point.
Step 5 - Name the bottleneck.
Step 6 - Choose what delegating to AI is supposed to solve.
Step 7 - Define your owner role for this season.
Step 8 - Draft your owner rhythm.
