A few weeks ago, I met Jim.
He shared he always ask his clients to create an Advisory Board for accountability and support. A group of colleagues they can reach out to for feedback, advice or support.
So I told him I have an AI Advisory Board.
And after I described it to him, he said it's such a really good idea and added:
"That's a framework you need to create."
So lemme share what I built so you can hopefully create one, too.
To be clear, I didn't build it because I have some big fancy business operation.
I built it so I can see things from different POVs.
Ten advisors. Ten thought leaders and experts in different domains.
Tom Bilyeu on 1st principles thinking and mindset.
Dan Henry on sales and messaging.
James Sexton on relationships and psychology.
Marie Forleo on self-care and personal dev.
Benjamin Hardy on future self and 10x thinking.
Rian Doris on peak performance and productivity.
And a few others.
These are the mentors I want to learn from.
And since I can't get 1:1 access to all of them, I thought: what's the next best option?
Well, it'd be great to create these personalities as AI Advisors.
So I did.
And every week, my automated End-Of-Week Debrief runs my work through my AI Advisory Board.
They don't validate me. They push back. And would oftentimes surface things I didn't see/notice.
A few weeks ago, my James Sexton advisor who's based on the lawyer who's won hundreds of divorce cases and has a bone-deep radar for self-deception, named something I did in a recent outreach that didn't go well.
James named the uncomfortable part: I knew my proposed strategy was a weak proof point. But I led with it anyway... hoping it wouldn't come up.
And lemme tell you. That callout forced me to be 100% transparent with myself.
That's what an AI Advisory Board actually does. They don't do pep talks.
It allows a solo operator (like me) to be aware of my blindspots, gaps in thinking or reflect on things that I can't always do for myself... esp, alone in my head at midnight.
