As an introvert, I spend sooo much time inside my head.

I'd brainstorm ideas, problem solve or reflect on certain things...

But most of the time, I would forget stuff.

So the idea of having a place outside my head where all my ideas, lessons and insights live... and I could actually find it? Yes, please.

Tiago Forte calls this concept the Second Brain. His whole argument is that your brain is for having ideas, not storing them.

And I super love that concept.

So I built one for different areas of my life. Travel. Personal Brand. Interior Design.

But here's where the problem lies. I hardly use them.

I'm back to square one.

Then I heard about the AI Second Brain. I saw a video using Obsidian as a second brain. Then another video using Claude Code and Obsidian as the second brain.

And I was thrilled. Got super excited to build my own version.

In fact, I did a full walkthrough in my new video.

Here are 5 things I added that really worked well (feel free to steal 'em):

  • Continuity - I have a command that reads my last five end-of-day logs, a running session-state file, and my latest process notes. My AI knows what I did yesterday, what routines I skipped etc

  • Memory - I have AI team members and eery one of them keeps its own log of what I've corrected and what patterns keep showing up. So they know what to do and what to avoid in the future.

  • Judgement - I have a dashboard that pulls my real numbers out of Google Sheets every night, and tells me flatly where my funnel is broken.

  • Permission - Once a week, it compares what I said mattered against what I actually did with my time. And it calls me out.

As you can see, this whole system is not just designed to store information or ideas. It's designed to do sooo much more.

I walked through the whole thing in this week's video, including the five things it does that a normal Obsidian vault doesn't.

Btw, have you ever considered building your own second brain?

Let’s build freedom together,
Hazel June
