A few months ago, my favorite Chrome extension, GoFullPage, stopped working.
It's such a useful tool and it's very simple to use. So I was really bummed when it suddenly stopped working.
Btw, GoFullPage is a Chrome extension (aka a small tool that can be added and used in a Chrome browser) that captures a screenshot of your current entire page.
I love this tool so it was a pain trying to take a screenshot without it.
But I found a workaround pretty quickly. Turns out, there's a couple of shortcuts or commands I can use to take a full page screenshot in Chrome on a Mac.
But there was a problem...
I always forget the damn shortcut.
So every time I needed a screenshot, I had to go find it again.
Sooo one day, I asked ChatGPT to help me build my own Chrome extension instead.
The whole thing took less than 20 minutes. And I was doing some client work while Chat builds my tiny tool in the background.
I did a walkthrough of the whole thing in a new YouTube video. You can watch it here.
Anyway, this got me thinking... how many of these annoying workarounds do we have?
Little workarounds we've stopped noticing because each one only takes a minute. Maybe it's a link you keep digging out of an old email. Or a welcome message you retype for every new client. Or maybe a file you rename by hand every week.
I mean, none of them feels big enough to fix. And they're "little things" so we just keep doing them.
But with AI, it's so easy now to create our own internal tools. You know, tiny tools for the stuff we keep tripping over. Or for the small tasks we no longer want to do manually.
So if you want, try it this week:
1. Write down 3 workarounds/tasks you repeat every week. The tiny, annoying ones.
2. Pick the simplest one. Choose one job, that you only you do, and doesn't need client data or sensitive info.
3. Give ChatGPT (or Claude) 20 minutes (or less). Tell it what you want. Keep it specific and simple.
If you're curious how I built my tiny tool, you can watch it here.

Nobody's coming to approve your idea
People assume that real businesses get built by other people with more resources. It's how great ideas get stuck in notes apps and conversations.
But you don't need six months and a developer's salary to validate your concept. You just need a weekend. Describe what you want to exist and Lovable builds it: a real site, a real product, ready to accept real payments from real customers. Not a mockup to show people. An actual thing they can use.
